The Point Restaurant in Perdido Key is hosting our Annual Pardi Gras Festival on Feb 6th. Live Music, Great Food, Parades, Contests, Art Vendors, Gumbo Cook-Off and More.
This family friendly Mardi Gras Charity Fundraiser will be Saturday, February 6th from 11:00 am to 6:00 p.m. will be located at The Point Restaurant, 14340 Innerarity Point Road in Perdido Key.
Christina Waller from The Original Point Restaurant says, “We recognize our volunteer firefighters put their life on the line for us by providing emergency services 24 hours and we are respectful of the sacrifices our Escambia County Fire Rescue endure every single day. We would like to give something back by hosting a neighborhood Mardi Gras Celebration with a percentage of the proceeds going directly to the Innerarity Point Volunteer Fire Department. We invite the public to share in this family-friendly fun-filled day!”
This event will kick off at 11:00 am with a neighborhood street parade on Sandview Dr. (behind The Point Restaurant). Prizes will be awarded for Best Decorated Golf Cart or Riding Lawn Mower. $20 entry fee for either to enter and non-profits are encouraged to enter and challenge other non-profits. Walkers are welcome for a donation ($2 adults, $1 kids) and the parade is pet friendly, so feel free to dress festive and bring your furry friends on leashes. All parade parking at Galvez Landing. Backyard chefs will be competing for a trophy for best Gumbo and sampling for the cook-off will be from Noon-2:00 pm. Registration Fee to enter Gumbo Cook-off is only $20. Arts and Crafts vendors are invited to have a vendor booth at the event on a first come, first serve basis. Vendor space registration is $50 for a 10×10 space.
Dance under the Spanish Moss in the beautiful courtyard to great live local music from Noon-6 pm. We are excited to kick off the day with Jackie Clowe. Jackie Clowe is an 18 year old singer/songwriter, who comes from a very musical family. Jackie won the 1st Annual Gulf Coast Songwriter Shootout at the Flora-Bama last April. She will be accompanied by local favorite Sam Glass. Sam is a singer/songwriter entertainer who has shared the stage with Shania Twain, Travis Tritt and more. Next up will be the Hundred Dollar Trio, recently featured on Fox 10’s Studio 10. Around 2:30 pm the Jay Williams Band will perform. Jay is from the Mississippi Delta and has been rocking the Gulf Coast for 10 years. Following Jay, will be Ryan Balthrop. Ryan draws inspiration from his southern upbringing in Mobile, Alabama, and from his years living and performing in the Eastern Caribbean. He has opened for such acts as: Dr. John, Wet Willie and Grayson Capps. For the finale, don’t miss the Elberta based band Whyte Caps. This young original band, recently featured on Studio Amped will mesmerize you with their talent and sound. Special Guest Appearances throughout the day by fiddle player Thomas Jenkins.
The music will be great and the festival is free to attend. Wristbands for unlimited Gumbo sampling will be available for $10 and souvenir T-Shirts will be available for $15.00. Discount packages will be available for $20 for both wristband and T-Shirt. Sponsorships are still available for businesses, but hurry so you can get on the T-shirt. $150 Green Sponsor for your Business Name or $250 Gold Sponsor for your Business Logo (comes with 4 Complimentary Wristband/T-Shirt packages).
